As for updates, for those who haven't followed there. Madison is now twelve going on twenty; and the twins are almost eight! It has been almost nine years since losing our sweet Hailey and we definitely still have moments. I've met a few people because of that loss and have been able to help some through their journey. I always try to reach out where I can. I remember how it helped me knowing there were others out there who had gone through it and knowing that even those who hadn't reached out just to let me know they were there. Even though I didn't always reach out to the ones who let me know they were there, knowing they were meant so much.
I was sharing with a friend that I had this blog and didn't know if I would update anymore, because if I did, I didn't know what I'd share about. She gave me an idea and I think it's a good one to share about, because it is something I'm still learning about.
So, the twins are now seven and a half, they are definitely growing boys! They will be in second grade this coming school year and it should be an interesting adventure! A few years ago, when the boys were doing pre-k, the teacher we met with through our charter school, got to witness Matthew having a melt down, which isn't too out of the ordinary for kids, especially at that age; for him, it was more than a normal meltdown. She mentioned he might have Sensory Processing Disorder and I was intrigued, I had never heard of that. I went home and researched it some and felt like it was something to definitely look into with his dr. So we started that process. This is the direction I want to take the blog, living with this and learning how to help him and figuring out what works and what doesn't is a continuing process. I know some of these things are becoming more common, but growing up in the 80's it wasn't as much of a thing, at least not that most of us were aware of. I wanted to post our story and our journey through this for us to look back on and to share with those who may want to learn more or at least along with us.
Hope you enjoy!
